NPA Thinks FDA Disappoints

Not only was Fabricant disappointed with the lack of substance from the FDA, he was also disappointed in the lack of data submitted by industry stakeholders in the wake of the May 31 call for data from the FDA. The agency requested data of all types but actually received very little due to the fact that all data received becomes publicly available.

Daniel Fabricant, CEO of The Natural Products Association (NPA) thinks the FDA’s recent statement on CBD is a big disappointment.

Not only was Fabricant disappointed with the lack of substance from the FDA, he was also disappointed in the lack of data submitted by industry stakeholders in the wake of the May 31 call for data from the FDA. The agency requested data of all types but actually received very little due to the fact that all data received becomes publicly available.

One thing that was clear from the FDA statement, was that the stance on CBD in food was getting grim. NPA members seemed to think that dietary supplements would eventually break through, but novel foods were further off.
