NFL Relaxes Drug Testing

The new NFL Players Association Collective Bargaining Agreement sets all sorts of new standards for players in the NFL, but it also adjusts the threshold of THC that is considered failing for players drug tests. That change is a direct result of players wanting to use full-spectrum CBD (which still may have just a hint of THC in it). Under this new agreement, the NFL is not just agreeing, they are encouraging CBD use among players…especially in place of other opioid-based pain relief.

Not that anyone is playing much football these days, but while the world was preoccupied with avoiding COVID-19, the NFL just changed their drug testing stance toward THC…and CBD and HEMP are the reason why.

As legal marijuana expansion continues, advocates point out that it is a safer alternative to prescription opioids for athletes to manage their pain. Thanks to a new agreement, NFL players have that option.
